Die SAGV Tagungen sind überaus beliebt; bei der letzten Tagung in Windhoek waren 64 Referate und Workshops auf dem Programm, die von 80 TeilnehmerInnen aus 10 verschiedenen Ländern  gehalten wurden.

Der Verband hat bislang 28 Tagungen durchgeführt (s. Liste).
